This website is dedicated to the SPORT of Competitive Action Pistol Shooting.
Metro Area Practical shooting Association was founded in 1980 as an action pistol shooting club for the purpose of holding competitive matches and promoting safe gun handling.
Our matches are held at Minnetonka Game & Fish located in North Elk River.We are a USPSA affiliated club with matches once per month.View the Match Results for our 2008 season.

MAPSA Member RequirementsYou will need to certify that you are not now and have never been a member of an organization which has any part of it's program, the attempt to overthrow the government of the United States by force or violence; that you have never been convicted of a crime of violence and that if admitted to MAPSA you will fulfill the obligation of good sportsmanship, uphold the constitution of the United States and adhere to the By-laws and regulations of MAPSA. You must provide proof that you may legally own and operate a handgun. Civilians must provide proof of prior pistol competition, a valid permit to purchase or Permit to carry a concealed weapon. LEO and Military are already approved. You will need a club member sponsor or club Officer which may include a safety test by a Range Officer. If this seems strict, it is because we are committed to the safety of our club members, new shooters, and spectators. This sport is absolutely the most fun you will have. Staying safe will insure it remains fun!
